Storytelling Strategist & Copywriter
Words that carry weight. Strategy that moves people. Content built for brands that believe what they do actually matters.
Who I Am
I am Adunni, a Copywriter and Storytelling Strategist who works with mission-driven brands and nonprofits. I help you find the language that makes your audience feel something, and then do something.
My work is not about filling space. It is about building meaning, one deliberate word at a time.
Read My StoryWhat I Do
Words that convert. Landing pages, sales copy, and messaging that speaks directly to the people you need to reach.
Sequences and campaigns that nurture, build trust, and turn subscribers into loyal advocates.
Narrative frameworks that give your brand a spine. A story your audience can follow, feel, and remember.
Articles, impact stories, and long-form pieces that educate, engage, and earn authority over time.
Turning your existing content into fresh formats and extended reach. One idea, multiple platforms, maximum impact.
Direction and planning that ensures your content is doing real work, not just occupying a feed.
Organized, intentional roadmaps so your team always knows what is going out, why, and when.
"The right words do not just describe what you do. They make people feel why it matters."

Let's Work TogetherThe Person Behind the Words
I am Adunni, a Copywriter and Storytelling Strategist working with clients across the United States, Europe, and beyond. My work sits at the intersection of language, strategy, and meaning.
I built Adunni Writes on a simple belief: that good writing is not decoration. It is direction. It tells your audience not just what you offer, but why it matters and why they should care.
I work primarily with nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, and founders who are building something they genuinely believe in. Those are the kinds of projects where the words have to do real work, and that is exactly the kind of work I was made for.
My approach is slow and deliberate. I take time to understand your voice, your audience, and your goals before a single word goes on the page. The result is content that feels like you, only clearer, sharper, and more compelling.
Outside of client work, I write a Substack that has grown to over 300 subscribers, exploring the craft of storytelling and what it means to communicate with integrity.
Work With MeWhat I Stand For
Every word earns its place. I do not write to fill space. I write to move people toward something real.
Your voice is your most valuable asset. My job is to sharpen it, not replace it.
I do my best work when I believe in what I am writing for. I choose clients who are building things that deserve to be seen.
I believe in building a reputation carefully, one piece of strong work at a time. Quality over volume, always.
Experience Across
A Little Extra
Here is something I want you, my esteemed client, to know about me. I am working toward becoming a filmmaker, one day, one script, one stubborn idea at a time.
I get hypnagogic visions, the vivid, story-like images that arrive right at the edge of sleep, and they have been with me since I was around six years old. They do not always ask for permission. Sometimes I love them. Sometimes I just want to sleep, or focus on something else entirely, and they will not let me. But they have never once let go of me either, and honestly, I would not want them to.
I could build a full movie in my head before I could properly spell half the words in it. I daydreamed constantly, talked to myself more than I will ever admit, and eventually started writing it all down in a notebook. My classmates used to fight over whose turn it was to read it next. They always knew that whatever the occasion, I would have a story ready for it.
That same instinct is what shows up in every brand story, email sequence, and case study I write today. The storytelling never really stopped. It just grew up and found new places to live.
If you would like a glimpse into the worlds still living in my head, waiting their turn, feel free to read some of my series bibles below.

Common Questions
Case Studies
Vesta Village came to me with a welcome sequence that was technically complete but emotionally flat. It explained the mission well, but it read like website copy chopped into six parts rather than a journey designed to build trust and move someone from stranger to community member.
Before touching a single email, I sent founder Misty Giordano a set of discovery questions designed to surface the emotional truth behind Vesta Village, not the organizational explanation, but the lived experience that made the nonprofit necessary. Her answers, the AOL chatboards, the credit card debt from learning life skills the hard way, the morning the idea became a calling, became the raw material for the entire rewrite.
I rebuilt the sequence around six emotional stages: Story, Identity, Belonging, Structure, Trust, Action. Each email was assigned exactly one job, and nothing was allowed to do more than that job.
"The most strategic thing a writer can do is diagnose before they draft."
The result was a sequence that led with identity and story before a single word about funding or structure, building real trust before ever making an ask. You can read the full rewritten sequence in the Email Copywriting section.
YEA had two decades of genuine environmental impact across South Florida, but almost none of it was showing up in their content. Their materials focused on information and updates, never on the human moments, the students who became environmental leaders, the volunteers who found purpose later in life, that actually make people stop scrolling and care.
I worked directly with YEA's team to understand their audience, their brand voice, and where these stories would live. Then I went to the source: existing testimonials from real students, volunteers, and partners, using their actual words as the raw material for every narrative I built.
Where names were missing from testimonials, I used pseudonyms with clear transparency notes. Where details needed filling in, I built composite stories grounded in real YEA experience, always flagged as editable templates the team could adapt with real participant details.
"The most powerful stories are not invented. They are uncovered."
The collection included origin stories, individual impact narratives, composite day-in-the-life pieces, and corporate partner features, a full story library YEA could draw from across platforms for months. The complete stories are available in the Impact Stories & Storytelling section.
Email Copywriting

Subject: You were never supposed to figure this out alone
Preview: This is for the woman who learned life the hard way.
There's a particular kind of quiet that fills the room when you realize everyone else seems to know something you don't.
They seem to know how to set boundaries, how to take care of their body, how to navigate a relationship, manage money, trust themselves or simply feel at home in their own skin.
And somehow, you don't know how because nobody taught you.
Not because you weren't worth teaching. But because the woman who was supposed to show you was dealing with her own storms. Maybe she was sick, maybe she was working three jobs just to keep the lights on, maybe she was there in body but somewhere far away in spirit and maybe she was gone altogether.
So you did what you had to do.
You figured it out.
Alone.
On the internet, in library books, through trial and error and quietly watching other women live in ways that felt foreign to you.
You became resourceful because you had to be. And you carried that quiet void, the one that comes from growing up without a soft place to land, further than anyone around you probably knew.
We see you.
And we want you to know that the void wasn't your fault. And you don't have to keep filling it alone. Vesta Village was built for you.
In the coming days we'll share more about who we are, what we're building, and how this community was born from that same quiet void.
Over the next few weeks you will receive five more letters from us. Each one is written to help you feel more at home here, more seen and more connected to what we are building together. After that you will hear from us regularly but never more than feels good. No inbox flooding, we promise. Just the kind of words that actually add something to your day.
But for now, just know this:
"You found your village."
With love,
Misty & The Vesta Village Community
Subject: The void that built a village
Preview: This is the story Vesta Village was born from.
When I was in 8th grade, my mother got sick.
Not the kind of sick that gets better after a few weeks of rest but the kind that quietly takes over everything; her life, her energy, her availability.
For years before that she had been working two, sometimes three jobs just to keep our family afloat. So in many ways, she had always been somewhere just out of reach.
My survival needs were always met. There was always someone in the house like my grandmother, my aunt, my uncle and my dad. I was never alone in the practical sense. But emotionally? There was a void that nobody talked about and nobody filled.
When I had questions, about my body, about boys, about who I was becoming, I didn't go to my mother instead I went to AOL chatboards.
And while that taught me something valuable like how to seek answers, how to gather perspectives, how to learn from many sources instead of just one, it also showed me exactly what I was missing.
I was missing nurturing, safety. A real, trusted voice saying "this is how you do life, and you're going to be okay."
So I figured it out. Piece by piece. Breadcrumb by breadcrumb. I went to health coaching school, I learnt cycle syncing so I can increase my productivity and performance. I learnt nervous system healing, ancestral reclamation, financial literacy and spiritual alignment.
Every time I learned something new I felt two things at once. Wonder at the discovery, and a quiet anger that nobody had taught me this sooner.
I tried building programs to share everything I'd learned. But I'm a lifelong learner, not a one-stop teacher. And something about charging women for wisdom they should have had access to all along felt deeply wrong to me.
Then one day in the summer of 2025, something shifted.
What if my whole journey, every chatboard, every breadcrumb, every hard-won lesson, could become something bigger than me? What if instead of being the expert, I could be the connector? What if women everywhere could access the knowledge I spent years and a lot of credit card debt piecing together completely free?
That's the moment Vesta Village stopped being an idea and became a necessity.
Not a course. Not a program. Not another thing you have to pay for.
But instead a village. The one I wish I'd had.
In the next email I'll tell you exactly what Vesta Village is, how it works, and what we're building together.
With love,
Misty
Subject: So what exactly is Vesta Village?
Preview: Free, global, and built around everything you were never taught.
Now that you know the heart behind why Vesta Village exists, let us show you what we're actually building.
Vesta Village is a free, global learning community for women.
Not a course.
Not a membership.
Not another wellness program that costs more than your grocery bill, but rather a community, structured as a nonprofit where women access practical life skills, wellness education, and shared wisdom completely free of charge, no matter where they are in the world or what their bank account looks like.
The workshops cover the full spectrum of what we like to call "how to human." Think holistic health and body literacy, communication and relationship skills, financial foundations, emotional intelligence, spiritual alignment, survival and practical life skills as well as cultural lineage and ancestral reclamation. Pretty much everything that should have been passed down, and for so many of us, wasn't.
Each workshop is led by a vetted, experienced practitioner like therapists, coaches, healers, educators, who are paid for their time and expertise.
This matters.
Vesta Village isn't built on the backs of unpaid labor. It's built on the belief that both the women learning and the women teaching deserve to be valued.
If you grew up with an unavailable mother, due to illness, addiction, absence, or simply being too overwhelmed to pour into you, this community was built with you in mind.
If you grew up with an available mother who maybe wasn't taught these things from her mother, and thereby unable to teach them to you, this community was built with you in mind.
Vesta Village resonates most with women between ages 20 and 45 who have spent years quietly filling in gaps that most people assume everyone just… knows.
But it's also for immigrant women and daughters of immigrants who grew up disconnected from their cultural roots, the language, the traditions, the folk wisdom that got lost somewhere between the old country and assimilation. Vesta Village is committed to bringing in practitioners from diverse cultural backgrounds to make sure those lineages stay alive and accessible.
Simple. Recorded workshops are posted to the Vesta Village website. You sign up for a free account. You choose what resonates. You learn. You come back. You bring a friend.
Everything is virtual, which means no geographic barriers, no scheduling conflicts used as excuses, and no woman left out because she lives somewhere that doesn't have access to these kinds of resources.
Vesta is the Roman goddess of the home and hearth. The keeper of the sacred flame.
Vesta Village is designed to be that, a warm, safe space where women can learn how to build a sense of home within themselves. Not dependent on where they came from. Not limited by what they were or weren't given.
Just women, learning, together.
In the next email we'll zoom out and talk about why this work matters beyond your individual journey, and the larger cultural shift Vesta Village is part of.
With love,
Misty & The Vesta Village Community
Subject: This isn't just your story, it's a generation's story
Preview: The void you grew up with has a name. And millions of women share it.
You are not an anomaly.
The experience of growing up without consistent maternal guidance, of quietly piecing together how to adult, how to heal, how to simply be a woman in this world, is not rare.
It is not a personal failing.
And it is not something you were supposed to just get over.
It is a generational pattern. And it runs deep.
For generations, women have been handed impossible roles and very little support.
Mothers who were too sick, too overworked, too emotionally unavailable, too consumed by their own unhealed wounds to pass down what their daughters needed. And so those daughters grew up and did what women do, they adapted, they survived, they figured it out.
But survival and thriving are not the same thing.
And somewhere along the way, the wisdom got lost.
The old ways of living, the practices, the rituals, the intergenerational knowledge that used to pass naturally from mother to daughter, grandmother to granddaughter, village to village, quietly disappeared. Replaced by Google searches, fragmented social media advice, and wellness programs that cost more than most women can afford.
For immigrant women and daughters of immigrants, this loss runs even deeper. Assimilation has a cost that doesn't show up in any history book, the language forgotten, the cultural traditions abandoned, the folk wisdom that connected you to where you came from, gone. Growing up knowing you came from somewhere but having no one to teach you what that means is its own particular kind of grief.
Vesta Village exists because this has gone on long enough.
Not as a reaction to anger, but as an act of love. A decision that the women coming after us deserve better. That the patterns stop here. That healing doesn't have to be expensive, lonely, or accidental.
Every woman who finds her way to Vesta Village and learns one thing she didn't know before, about her body, her boundaries, her culture, her worth, is a thread in a much larger fabric being rewoven.
When you heal, you don't just heal for yourself. You heal for the daughter who will never have to search AOL chatboards for answers. For the granddaughter who will grow up knowing where she came from. For the woman in your circle who just needed someone to show her it was possible.
That's the shift Vesta Village is part of.
And you're already in it just by being here.
In the next email we'll talk about how Vesta Village stays free, and the transparent, ethical way we handle every dollar donated to keep this mission alive.
With love,
Misty & The Vesta Village Community
Subject: Let's talk about money, honestly
Preview: Where every dollar goes and who makes sure of it.
We want to have an honest conversation with you about money.
Not because we have to.
But because you deserve to know exactly how Vesta Village operates, who holds us accountable, and why your support, in whatever form it takes, directly determines whether this vision becomes reality or stays a beautiful idea.
Vesta Village is a startup nonprofit.
That means no decades of impact data, no long history of grant funding, no deep pockets. What we have is a clear mission, a committed founder, a growing community of women who believe this work matters, and an honest need for financial support to get off the ground.
Because we're at an early stage, traditional grant funding is largely out of reach for now. Grants typically require proof of impact, and you can't prove impact you haven't yet had the resources to create. It's a cycle that keeps many meaningful nonprofit missions stuck before they ever truly begin.
So we're being direct with you, the primary way Vesta Village moves forward right now is through individual donations, corporate giving, and family foundation support.
Every dollar donated to Vesta Village goes toward bringing this community to life.
That means building and maintaining the website, paying practitioners fairly for their time and expertise, hiring the contractors and team members needed to run operations, and funding the marketing that helps more women find their way here.
No dollar disappears into a vague operational fund. No dollar lines anyone's personal pockets.
Every cent is in service to the mission.
Vesta Village is fiscally sponsored by Creative Visions, a registered 501c3 nonprofit that supports creative activists using art and media to ignite social change.
As part of this sponsorship agreement, Vesta Village is required to submit a yearly expense report accounting for every donated dollar.
Think of Creative Visions as the financial oversight that keeps Vesta Village honest and accountable, not just to you, but to the integrity of the mission itself.
And because of this fiscal sponsorship, every donation made through Vesta Village's fundraising page is fully tax deductible.
Because Vesta Village was built on the belief that women deserve access to knowledge without financial barriers. And that belief has to extend to how we operate too.
No smoke and mirrors.
No vague appeals.
Just transparency, accountability, and a genuine invitation to be part of something that is trying to do things the right way from the very beginning.
You don't have to donate to belong here. Your presence in this community matters regardless.
But if this mission moves you, if you've ever felt the void we've been talking about in these emails, know that even the smallest contribution helps keep these workshops free for the next woman who needs them.
In our final email we'll share exactly how you can get involved, access the workshops, and help spread the word to the women in your life who need this community.
With love,
Misty & The Vesta Village Community
Subject: Your village is ready, and here's how to step in
Preview: You've heard the story. Now here's how you become part of it.
You made it through all six emails and that tells us something about you.
You're someone who resonates with this mission. Someone who has felt that quiet void we've been talking about. Someone who believes, maybe even just a little, that women deserve better than figuring life out alone.
Welcome.
Truly.
You're exactly who Vesta Village was built for.
We are still in the beautiful, messy, exciting process of building this village from the ground up, and you are joining us right at the beginning. That means you have a front row seat to everything that's coming.
And a lot is coming.
Workshops are on the way. Real, meaningful, free sessions led by vetted practitioners covering everything from holistic health and financial literacy to cultural reclamation and emotional intelligence. Everything you were never taught but always needed.
The moment our first workshop goes live you will be the very first to know, before anyone else. Because you were here from the start and that means something to us.
So keep an eye on your inbox, your village is almost ready to open its doors.
While you wait, here's how you can show up right now.
You know better than anyone what you needed to learn and didn't. So tell us.
A few questions to get you thinking; What is something you wish you had learned at a younger age? What didn't the women in your life teach you that you wish they had? What would you want to teach your own child that nobody taught you?
Your answers shape what Vesta Village becomes. This community evolves around real needs not assumptions.
Do you know a therapist, coach, healer or educator whose work aligns with Vesta Village's mission? Send them our way.
We are always looking for heart centered professionals who want to share their expertise with a community of women who genuinely need it. They'll be paid for their time and welcomed as a valued part of this village.
Think about the women in your life who have felt this void. Your friend who grew up with an absent mother. Your colleague who has been quietly piecing herself together for years. Your sister. Your neighbor. The woman in your online community who said something last week that made you think, she needs this.
Send them here. Let them know they don't have to figure it out alone anymore either. The more women who join now the stronger and more vibrant this community will be when the doors fully open.
If Vesta Village has moved you through these emails, if you've recognized yourself in this story, please consider supporting the mission financially. Every contribution no matter the size helps us build faster, pay our practitioners and get these workshops to you sooner.
You can donate directly through our fundraising page where all contributions are tax deductible. If you know a company or family foundation that might align with this mission send us their information. If you're a fellow nonprofit and know of a grant we may qualify for we'd love to hear about it.
Every little bit accumulates. Every dollar is a woman who gets to learn something she was never taught, for free.
When I was younger, searching for answers I should have been able to get from my mother, I couldn't have imagined that one day that void would become a village.
But here we are. And you are already part of it.
Thank you for being here from the very beginning. Thank you for believing in something that is still becoming. And thank you for helping us build something that will outlast all of us, a world where no woman has to figure life out alone.
The workshops are coming. The village is almost ready.
And you'll be the first through the door.
With so much love,
Misty & The Vesta Village Community
Web Copy
The brief was simple to state and hard to execute: write a homepage that could take a visitor from "what is this?" to "I belong here" in under a minute, without ever feeling like a sales pitch.
The structure leads entirely with emotional recognition before any organizational explanation. The opening line, "We are the cycle breakers," sets the tone immediately: this is a movement, not a service.
The page repeats one reassurance in different forms throughout: "Everything here is free." This breaks down financial hesitation before it can even form, since the audience this nonprofit serves often cannot afford the very support they need most.
A data section midway through the page builds credibility with real statistics on childhood trauma and its long-term impact, grounding the emotional appeal in something measurable, without losing the warmth of the surrounding copy.
The founder's story is woven directly into the page rather than tucked away on a separate About page, because in a mission this personal, the founder's lived experience is part of the product itself.
The page closes the way it opens: with belonging, not a transaction. "You found your village. Help us build it for everyone."

Written in founder Misty Giordano's voice, this rotating content plan covers behind-the-scenes progress, financial transparency, and practitioner recruitment, three very different jobs that all needed to sound like the same person.
Vesta Village's website is officially live! I've written and rewritten that sentence several times because, honestly, it still doesn't feel entirely real.
What makes this milestone particularly meaningful is that Vesta Village did not begin as a business idea on a whiteboard. It began with lived experience, with understanding what it feels like to need support and struggle to find it.
"The website is live, but the mission is only beginning."
I want to be transparent about something. One of the questions we receive most often at Vesta Village is: "Where does my donation actually go?" It's a fair question, if we're asking people to invest in this mission, we believe they deserve a clear answer.
The post breaks down workshop costs, operational expenses, and the $20,000 community fundraising goal in plain, honest language, building donor trust through transparency rather than persuasion.
Vesta Village is officially accepting practitioner applications. But before I talk about qualifications, experience, or workshop topics, I want to talk about the women we serve.
The post centers the call to action around empathy and alignment rather than just listing requirements, attracting practitioners who lead with care, not just credentials.
One of the strangest parts of building something new is realizing when it starts becoming real. Not idea-real, or spreadsheet-real, or vision-board-real, but actually real, real.
This update post turns a simple operational milestone, confirming two practitioners, into a moment of momentum and emotional investment for the audience following Vesta Village's journey.
Sales Page Copy
Hey there, don't scroll away. You thought we were just going to say thank you for subscribing and let you scroll off into the void? Nuh uh.
We both know your typical "thank you page" is basically "thanks for subscribing, toodles, cheerio" and that's it, leaving potential customers free to just skedaddle away. BUT. Thanks to the Tripwire Toolkit, your thank you page is about to get the makeover it has been crying for.
The Tripwire Toolkit is the guide you need to trigger an alert the moment your customer lands on your page, hold their attention before they can click away, and convert them into a buyer right then and there.
Inside the Tripwire Toolkit you get:
The Tripwire Toolkit will take you from "just subscribed" to "just made a sale" faster than any ordinary thank you page ever could.
"I'm ready to start tripping."
Written for a $4.99 digital tripwire offer, this page leans entirely into a playful, conversational voice, proof that sales copy does not have to sound formal to convert. The energy of the writing matches the low-stakes, impulse-buy nature of the offer itself.

A short-form B-roll reel sharing the founder's personal story to build authority and drive course sign-ups, written across four rotating weekly variations to keep the message fresh without losing the core arc.
At 24, I was making 6 figures as a corporate engineer, and I remember thinking, this can't be it. Everyone around me told me the same thing: play it safe. But I didn't want a life I needed to escape from. I wanted freedom.
So I bought a duplex with 3.5% down. Lived in one side, rented out the other. A year later, the property was cash flowing a few thousand dollars every month, so I quit my job.
"This is what happens when you stop waiting and actually move."
Too many people sit in the "this can't be it" feeling, and stay there. At some point, you have to ask yourself: do you want a life that just looks good, or one that actually feels good to live? If you've been feeling like there's more for you, this is your sign to stop waiting on yourself. Comment "INVEST" and I'll send you the details.
An 8-slide educational carousel built to challenge a common assumption, that any realtor can help you invest, while driving sign-ups for the academy.
"You'll probably fire your realtor after reading this… no kidding!"
The carousel walks through why most realtors are trained to help people buy a home, not build wealth through real estate, using a real student's story (firing her Zillow agent, then closing a deal in 30 days with an investor-savvy one) as social proof.
You don't need just any realtor, you need the right one. The ones who work with investor-savvy agents move faster, find better deals, and make smarter decisions from day one. The ones who don't, learn the hard way. Comment REALTOR and I'll send you my free video on how to spot the difference.

A side-by-side visual comparison reel demonstrating the financial power of house hacking using the exact same property, one of the simplest and most persuasive formats for a numbers-driven audience.
"Same single-family house… solo living vs house hacking."
Solo living shows $0 income against a $2,800/month mortgage. House hacking shows $2,500 to $4,000/month in rental income against the same mortgage, with the framing landing on: "Your tenants help cover your costs, and you end up living for free."
Same house, same price, but completely different outcome. That's the difference between owning a home and owning an asset. Comment START and I'll send you the details.

A 10-slide case study carousel used as social proof to convert warm leads, built around a student who assumed she had no path to invest again, until she did.
"This is Maya. She thought she wouldn't be able to invest for years… but she closed on her second home 2 months later."
Maya already owned a primary home and saw no duplex or house-hack deals in her market, so she assumed she was stuck waiting. Inside the academy, she learned the nomad strategy: buy a new primary home, move in, and convert her first home into a short-term rental. Two months later, she closed on her second property, all while working full-time as a grant writer.
This is exactly what most people miss when they think about real estate investing. They assume they need the perfect market or perfect timing. Maya is proof that's not true. Comment "INVEST" and we'll send you the details.

Your marketing calendar is fully packed. Blogs are scheduled. Campaigns are going live. It might look like you're crushing it from the outside. But leads are weak. Revenue is stuck. Growth is barely moving.
A business may be "marketing but not growing" when all its promotional efforts generate traffic and interest but do not convert into meaningful growth metrics, qualified leads, revenue, and customer retention.
1. You're focused on activity, not outcomes. Measuring success by volume of posts instead of revenue impact. Busyness equals burnout, not business growth.
2. Your sales and marketing teams don't speak the same language. Campaigns look productive on paper but fail to move deals down the pipeline, because there is no alignment on ideal customer profile, messaging, or goals.
3. Strategy comes last, or not at all. Execution without strategy is just expensive busywork. Strategy is the filter that tells you what to execute, how, and why it matters.
"Your marketing should feel fruitful, not frantic, with growth tied at the centre."
Your business could have started as a side project, a freelance hustle, or an idea you refused to let die, but now it has grown to the point where you cannot do it all alone anymore. Hiring your first employee is one of the most consequential decisions you will make as a founder.
The article walks through five practical steps: knowing exactly what you are hiring for, understanding the legal basics before making an offer, hiring for the role you have now rather than the company you imagine, taking the interview seriously, and onboarding like you mean it.
"A focused role attracts focused candidates, while a vague one attracts everyone, and everyone is the wrong answer."
Placing a bulk order with a new supplier is a leap of faith. Get it right and you have found a reliable source for your inventory. Get it wrong and you are stuck with stock you cannot move and a budget hole you did not plan for.
The article covers starting with a small test order, asking about minimum order quantities upfront, getting clarity on return and refund processes before price, reading reviews like a buyer rather than a browser, and confirming shipping timelines in writing.
"Vetting a supplier is not about finding zero risk. It is about knowing what you are signing up for so you can plan around it."
There is a specific kind of frustration that grows quietly inside most small businesses: "We have a system for that, but no one really uses it." If that sounds familiar, the problem is almost never the tools. The real issue is implementation, not inventory.
The piece breaks down why teams underuse the tools they already have, unclear ownership, learning just enough to get by, and leaders not modeling the behavior they want to see, then offers a practical audit process to fix it.
"You do not need more tools, you just need to actually use the ones you have."
Impact Stories & Storytelling
There were 3 men whose love for giving back to the society brought them together. They had one drive, one mission and one purpose, which is "caring for those with special needs". But when their foundation shuttered, leaving adaptive sailboats docked and dreams adrift, they refused to let the sails go silent.
And thus, Youth Environmental Alliance (YEA) was born, to keep those sails flying for all.
The founding fathers, whose names are, Andy (current president), Steve (who has a special needs child) and Joel have one thing in common, which is they enjoyed teaching children and the special needs population outdoor skills, such as fishing and sailing.
Their passion shone brightest with students like Sanford, who was completely blind. When they taught him to sail, he said:
"In my everyday life, I must rely on others, in sailing, I am completely free!"
Moments like these fueled YEA's growth.
This felt very rewarding and from there the sailing program continued and more programs were built which are: Hooked on drugs not fishing, Fishing for Success and Flag in the classroom.
Now, at the age of 20, YEA has over 100 STEAM-based (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math) environmental science classes, field trips and outdoor experiences.
Today, these programs thrive, empowering more 'Sanfords' every year while carrying Andy, Steve, and Joel's vision forward.
And this is why your donations matter, your donations keep our passionate team strong, ensuring sails of freedom and STEAM adventures endure for generations.
Jacob was just 7 years old when he first encountered YEA's environmental education programs. At the time, he was simply a curious child, eager to learn, ask questions, and explore the world around him.
But something shifted when he was introduced to environmental restoration, conservation, and the importance of protecting nature.
The lessons didn't just stay in the classroom. They stayed in his heart.
Inspired by what he learned through YEA, Jacob chose to continue his education at a Restoration Magnet High School, where he deepened his knowledge and remained actively engaged in environmental learning throughout his teenage years.
That early spark grew into a lifelong purpose.
Today, Jacob is an adult with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, currently pursuing a Master's degree in Environmental Education. He has gone on to become a High School Science Teacher, shaping young minds the same way he was once inspired.
But he didn't stop there.
Jacob also founded his own company dedicated to teaching people the importance of planting native plants and helping communities build native gardens, restoring ecosystems one garden at a time.
His story is proof of what happens when a child is given the right tools, knowledge, and inspiration early in life.
YEA didn't just teach Jacob about the environment. They helped shape a future environmental leader.
YEA ignited Jacob's path: From kid hauling trash to expert empowering others in Florida's diverse ecosystems.
"YEA turned my passion into a career, now I pass it on!"

When Olivia attended a YEA Plastics Education class at a 4H meeting, she was just 9 years old; curious, bright, and eager to learn.
But what she learned didn't stop with her.
Inspired by the impact of plastic pollution and the importance of sustainable living, Olivia took action in a way few adults do. She went on to engage 30 of her friends, introducing them to three YEA environmental classes, paired with hands-on eco-action activities.
Her passion didn't end there.
Motivated by what she learned through YEA, Olivia went on to start her own nonprofit organization, creating and distributing reusable produce bags to help reduce plastic waste in her community.
And the most powerful part? She's still volunteering with YEA today at age 12, continuing to learn, lead, and inspire others.
Olivia's journey shows what happens when children are given the knowledge, encouragement, and tools to act.
YEA didn't just teach her about sustainability. They empowered her to become a young environmental changemaker.
Olivia's story is proof your support creates ripples, empowering youths to sustaining their communities and wildlife.
"YEA showed me how to act, now I'm leading the change!"

When Denise, a woman in her 50s, joined the Florida Master Naturalist program in Broward, she had no formal background in environmental science, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Through YEA's education and hands-on engagement, something shifted.
What started as interest soon became passion. Denise didn't just participate, she leaned in, volunteered actively, and committed to deepening her knowledge and impact.
Today, Denise is: an active YEA volunteer, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, and living proof that it's never too late to start, pivot, or find purpose.
Her journey reminds us that environmental stewardship isn't only for children or scientists, it's for anyone willing to learn, grow, and take action.
YEA didn't just educate Denise. They helped her rewrite what her future could look like.
"YEA gave me purpose and skills, now I'm hooked!"
YEA changes lives, one skill at a time. Support more Denises!
Meet Daniel (a pseudonym, used because no name was given in the original testimonial), who participated in YEA's environmental programming and coastal restoration efforts and was so moved by the experience that he decided to take action beyond the classroom.
Inspired by what he learned, and the real-world restoration work happening along Florida's coast, he went on to start his own nonprofit organization focused on: environmental education, coastal restoration, and community-led conservation.
His work now serves communities YEA does not currently reach, extending impact from the Florida Keys through Northern Palm Beach County and across to Tampa Bay, effectively expanding environmental restoration efforts across much of Southern Florida.
What started as participation became leadership. What started as learning became a statewide impact.
This is the ripple effect of meaningful environmental education, one person empowered, thousands influenced.
"YEA's model showed me how, now I'm scaling it statewide!"
From participant to expander, your YEA donation sparked this ripple.
A composite story inspired by real YEA students. Names, ages, activities, and details are intentionally written to be editable to reflect actual students and programs.
Meet Sofia, 12, a bright student from a vibrant Broward neighborhood, one of YEA's passionate young volunteers.
At 8 a.m., her alarm rings. She grabs her reusable bag, a DIY project she made through YEA, and heads to the community center for dune planting day.
By 9 a.m., Sofia is hands-deep in sand alongside classmates, teachers, and retirees. She helps pull invasive plants and carefully plants sea oats, learning how they protect beaches and create safer nesting areas for sea turtles.
"This beach is ours," she says proudly, picking up real skills she can use at home and in her community.
At lunch, she chats about pollinators while enjoying snacks and learning how native plants support butterflies and birds.
In the afternoon, Sofia helps install a butterfly garden, planting milkweed to support monarchs. Later, she leads a mini trash cleanup, counting plastic waste that could harm wildlife.
A YEA mentor smiles and tells her, "You're a steward now."
As the sun sets, Sofia rides her bike home, inspired and already planning to invite her friends to the next wetland restoration project.
One day with YEA becomes a lifetime of purpose, skills, and environmental leadership.
YEA days like Sofia's create changemakers. Sponsor a student's spark, and help grow the next generation of environmental stewards.

Meet Marcus, 34, a nature lover who signed up for his first YEA wildlife conservation day, not knowing it would change how he sees the environment.
At 8 AM, Marcus arrives at a restoration site where YEA is creating safer habitats for birds, pollinators, and sea turtles. His first task? Helping install native plants that provide food, shelter, and nesting spaces for wildlife.
As the day unfolds, he learns how plastic waste threatens birds, how pollinators depend on native gardens, and how small actions can protect endangered sea turtles along Florida's coast.
"I never realized how connected everything is," he says. "How one cleanup, one garden, one habitat can actually save lives."
Later, Marcus joins a hands-on activity, removing invasive plants that destroy wildlife habitats. The work is physical, but meaningful.
"It's a lot of effort," he reflects, "but it feels powerful knowing I'm helping protect animals that can't protect themselves."
By the end of the day, Marcus feels proud, not just for showing up, but for being part of something bigger than himself.
"I love nature," he says. "And now I know I've helped preserve it."
Days like Marcus's turn compassion into conservation. Support YEA's wildlife work, and help protect the species that depend on us.
A story inspired by real corporate volunteer testimonials, written as a reusable template adaptable to other company partnerships simply by swapping names and details.
When Wells Fargo employees joined YEA for a dune restoration project, they weren't just volunteering, they were helping protect Florida's beaches, sea turtles, butterflies, and native birds.
Together, they planted native dune vegetation that stabilizes coastlines, creates safer nesting grounds for sea turtles, and builds feeding and shelter habitats for wildlife.
"We are protecting beaches, creating new homes for turtles, butterflies, and birds," one participant shared, proud to see their impact take root.
Another corporate partner, Pernod Ricard, joined YEA's Responsib'ALL Day with a clear mission: to give back responsibly and intentionally.
"Responsibility, Purpose, Community," their team emphasized, values reflected in their hands-on environmental action.
Through YEA's programs, companies don't just give donations, they create measurable impact: restoring natural habitats, supporting environmental education, empowering communities, and protecting vulnerable wildlife.
When corporations partner with YEA, they're not just supporting the environment, they're investing in a healthier planet, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.

In a world that has forgotten how powerful women once were, an ancient feminine force reawakens. They have no name you are meant to know. They leave only a white bird. They are called the Ìyàmí, The Mothers.
Drama, thriller, and afrofantasy. Think Black Panther meets The Boys meets Alias Grace, with the spiritual depth of Beloved and the cultural specificity of everything Nnedi Okorafor has written. Serious but not humourless, dark but not hopeless, deeply rooted in Yoruba cosmology but universal in the injustices it responds to.
Before colonisation swept through Yorubaland and rewrote what power looked like, the Iyami existed. The Ajes, the owners of the night, the ones even the orishas treated carefully. They were not myth, neither were they folklore. They were real, organised, feared, and deeply respected. No king ascended the throne without their approval.
Then civilisation arrived with its churches, courts, and borders, and the world forgot. But the Iyami did not disappear. They retreated, and passed their knowledge through bloodlines and the hands of old women who still remembered.
The series opens in the present day, with women unsafe across the world in fragments, a girl trafficked in Southeast Asia, a woman beaten behind closed doors in London, a child married off at eleven in Northern Nigeria.
"The world is loud about women's rights and does nothing. The Iyami are silent about everything and do everything."
Ronbi Fagbemi is our entry point into this world. Lagos born and raised, sharp, opinionated, self-made. She survived a marriage that started with love and ended with locked doors and bruised skin.
One night she witnessed a ten-year-old girl, violated and left to die, right before her eyes. Something in Ronbi did not break, it snapped into a different shape entirely. She got sick shortly after, the kind the hospital could not fully explain, and returned to her ancestral town, where her great aunt, Mama Agba, an Iyanifa diviner, was waiting as if she had been expecting her.
She does not choose the Iyami. The Iyami recognise her.
The sacred number in Iyami tradition is thirteen, associated with transformation, the feminine, and the hidden. Ronbi builds The Thirteen one by one, not by recruiting, but by saving. Each woman was personally pulled from the edge of something by Ronbi before they knew who she was. The loyalty, when revealed, is already bone deep.
Beyond The Thirteen exists a vast invisible network: the vegetable seller who notices everything, the senator's wife who hears things at dinner parties, the surgeon who can make a death look natural, the tech founder who can erase someone from every database on earth.
The Iyami draw power through the feminine orishas. Òyá gives them the ability to move unseen. Òṣun, who sees everything that moves through water, gives them their intelligence network. Yemọja extends their reach across oceans. Ọba gives them their capacity for ruthlessness when required. Agẹmọ, the transitional deity, makes them impossible to track, categorise, or catch.
Technologically they are ghosts, no digital footprint, no traceable faces or voices, a system built by one of The Thirteen, a cybersecurity expert who dismantled her own digital identity before building theirs.
In Yoruba tradition the Iyami are associated with night birds, but Ronbi chose the white bird deliberately, peace, innocence, the thing released at a wedding or a funeral. She chose it because she wanted the world to feel the contradiction.
"What happened here was not gentle, but we are not what you fear. We are what you forgot to protect."
The note attached is always handwritten, always the same ink, always the same word: Ìyàmí. Forensic analysts cannot determine if it is one person or many, the hand too consistent to be human and too human to be a machine.
Governments initially dismiss the Iyami as a vigilante group. Then the pattern becomes undeniable, surgical, coordinated, invisible. What frightens governments most is not the punishment, it is the quiet reshaping: elections won, judges kept on cases, girls who arrive home safely with no explanation. This is not vigilantism. It is a transfer of power happening slowly and invisibly.
The Iyami have one truth that becomes their mythology: they were never caught. Not once. In a world of surveillance, AI tracking, and facial recognition, the Iyami do not exist in any system anywhere. That impossibility is what makes them legend.
Every episode begins with a woman, her story, her world, what happened to her, and then the white bird. The series is designed for multiple seasons, each deepening the mythology, expanding The Thirteen, and raising the stakes. No season ends with the Iyami caught. Every season ends with them more powerful, more organised, and more invisible than before.
The injustices the Iyami respond to are not fictional: trafficking, domestic violence, workplace discrimination, forced marriage, systemic silencing, happening today, in every country on earth. But the deeper story is about memory, about what women were before the world decided what they should be.
"The Iyami are not a revenge fantasy. They are a reclamation. A reminder that the power was never gone. It was only forgotten."
Series Bible
African Fantasy, Mythological Fantasy, Coming-of-Age Fantasy, Epic Fantasy.
Mythic, immersive, emotional, powerful.
In a world where the Orisas still shape reality, two girls are born under extraordinary signs. One is marked by Sàngó. The other is claimed by Yemoja.
As they grow into their gifts, ancient forces stir across the land. The balance between thunder and tide begins to shift, forcing both girls to confront what it truly means to carry the power of the divine. Bound by fate yet shaped by their own choices, they must navigate friendship, responsibility, and the expectations of gods and mortals alike.
A fantasy world inspired by Yoruba cosmology, where the Orisas actively influence daily life. Communities honor them through festivals, ritual traditions, sacred sites, and oral history.
Sàngó — Orisa of thunder, lightning, justice, leadership, and power. His chosen child carries immense potential and an intense relationship with responsibility.
Yemoja — Orisa of rivers, motherhood, protection, healing, and nurturing strength. Her chosen child embodies compassion, intuition, and emotional depth.
Obàtálá — Represents wisdom, creation, purity, and balance. Serves as a stabilizing force within the larger cosmology.
Egbe — Celestial companions connected to individuals before birth. Some characters maintain strong Egbe connections, others struggle with separation, and these relationships influence destiny and personal growth throughout the story.
Courageous, fiercely protective, impulsive, strong-willed. Her arc is learning that strength is not domination, that true power requires wisdom, patience, and restraint.
Empathetic, intuitive, thoughtful, emotionally perceptive. Her arc is learning that compassion does not require self-sacrifice, and that protection sometimes requires difficult choices.
The heart of the series. Their connection evolves through friendship, rivalry, loyalty, and shared destiny. They represent different expressions of strength, thunder and tides. Neither is superior. Both are necessary.
The Orisas are not corrupt. Conflict does not arise because the Orisas become evil. Instead, conflict emerges from human misunderstanding, misuse of power, historical grievances, competing interpretations of divine will, and personal choices. The Orisas remain divine forces worthy of reverence.
"What happens when ordinary people are chosen to carry extraordinary divine responsibility?"
